Monday Night Training - Hose Line Management @ CCPSTC
Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

By KVFD
April 3, 2017

Tonight's training was conducted at the CCPSTC and it focused on hose line management with "live conditions".

KVFD personnel traveled to the Chester County Public Safety Training Center and utilized their tactical village drill tower for training evolution's which make it as real as it can get with supervised training.

Engine 8-1 & 8-2, along with Ladder 8 were utilized.

Personnel simulated several different scenarios which included residential and high rise structural fires. Personnel arrived to find "smoke showing" and had to make split second decisions on the location of the fire and the fires atmosphere. Crews were faced with challenges outside and inside the building.

Personnel took advantage of the weather and trained new personnel on apparatus as well as allowed for our operators to work with Stand-Pipe (FDC) Connections.

Personnel were given scenarios with firefighters going down "Mayday" situations and as well with hose line management.

The CCPSTC gives the firefighters an opportunity to train "in real life scenarios" to the best of their ability under direct supervision. The training tower which is also capable of playing 300 different sounds allows firefighters to look, listen and feel in the smoke.

While on-site Modena Fire Company who was training close-by heard KVFD was at the Tactical Village and arrived and assisted as in a real life scenario as a second alarm company. Modena Personnel assisted the KVFD personnel on-scene.
