Last night KVFD firefighters trained on hose line management with evolutions involving stretching a hose line in a challenging environment. Crews had to pull the line through an obstacle course including a tight environment and also entering through a window while wearing full turnout gear, an SCBA and with a charged hose line.
Rescue 8 was used as the first-in piece, and one of its hose lines was deployed and charged with water as in a real response. Firefighters also practiced tasks involved in Engine Company operations for basement fires.
The training was held at the East Station (Pomeroy Station).
