For Monday night training, Modena Fire Company asked if Parkesburg would be willing to bring Engine 28 down for another turbo draft demonstration. Modena's Fire Chief Frank Dowlin wanted to see how much water could be pumped from the Brandywine River. The Brandywine River runs right through Modena but is not accessable with a fire truck. Once set up, Engine 28 was used one turbo draft and supplied water to Engine 36 (Po-Mar-Lin fire company) and Engine 36 was flowing the water out the deck gun to see how much water could be supplied to them. Engine 37-2 was further up the road trying to use the other turbo draft but due to a large incline they were unable to get a good flow of water. As a result, Engine 28 set up the other turbo draft and supplied water to Engine 36 who then supplied water to Engine 37-2 who was suppling a deck gun and a 3" line. So with this set up there was a lot of hose on the ground and there was a lot of water being moved. Station 38 (Thorndale Fire Company) and Station 35 (Wagontown Fire Company) also had crews at the demo to check out how the turbo draft system worked. Thanks to Modena Fire Company for inviting us down.
