Accident With Entrapment and Fire In Sadsbury Township

On April 20th, 2024, at 23:37 Sadsburyville Fire Company along with Keystone Valley EMS and Westwood Medic 344 were dispatched to the Route 30 Bypass East Bound Mile Marker 268.7 for an auto accident.
Chief 31 (McCarthy) along with responding units were advised by the Chester County 911 Center of a single vehicle off of the roadway overturned with unknown entrapment. Additional callers reported that the subject was entrapped in the vehicle and that the vehicle was now on fire. Medic 344 (Ferraro) was the first arriving unit to confirm the reports and advised that the patient was removed from the vehicle by bystanders.
Ambulance 8-1 arrived and began assisting Medic 344 with patient care while Rescue 31 began suppression efforts on the vehicle. Chief 31 arrived and assumed the command for this incident. As additional units arrived, they were given their assignments by Chief 31. The fire was placed under control at 23:55.
Ambulance 8-1 and Medic 344 cleared the scene at 00:34. The Sadsburyville Fire Company remained on the scene to assist the Pennsylvania State Police with lighting of the scene and traffic control.
