KVFD was dispatched to a residence on W. Second Avenue for a reported house fire. Ladder 8 arrived on-scene with a two-story middle of the row with nothing showing. Ladder 8 was the first arriving unit, Engine 8 was the second and Rescue 8 as the 3rd.

Captain 8 reported that the fire was contained and found to be at the neighboring residence which was adjoining.

Chief 8 (Gathercole) established the W. Second Avenue Command with Deputy Chief Klingler assuming operations.

The incident was held to Station # 8 and Engine 52. The balance was cancelled enroute.

The fire was found underneath the residence in a crawl space where heaters inside the lower level of a structure were used to heat the piping. One heater melted causing a structure fire. The fire was contained to the heater (electrical) which caused charring to the crawl space and piping in the crawl space. The fire was out however, a water can was utilized to handle smoldering debris.

The Heater(s) were pulled from the structure. The Incident was mitigated on-scene by KVFD personnel.

**Please use caution with the adverse weather and cold weather with heating pipes and crawl spaces where fire can ignite.**
