Working House Fire In Valley Township

On June 5th, 2024, at 17:12 Westwood Fire Company and mutual aid were dispatched to the 900 block of Front Street in Valley Township for a house fire.

Westwood Fire Company units and mutual aid made the response and were advised by the caller that an automobile was on fire and was catching the side of the house on fire. Valley Township Police Department and 44-30 (Pilotti) arrived and confirmed the report and also advised that the fire had spread into the house.

Chief 44 (Mcwilliams) requested a "Working Fire Dispatch" Engine 44-5 was the first arriving Engine and began suppression efforts as Ambulance 8-1 arrived and setup Rehab for the firefighters. Chief 44 (Mcwilliams) arrived and assumed the command and Deputy 44 (Scott) held the operations role for the call. As additional Fire and EMS units arrived, they were given their assignments by the command.

Interior crews worked collaboratively to perform ventilation and overhaul operations. The fire was placed under control at 17:33 with all hands working. A notification was made to Peco to secure a power line at the scene.

The final Keystone Valley Fire Department unit cleared the scene at 18:38.
