Volunteer?
It’s 1 a.m.; the smoke alarm sounds. You quickly round up the family and pets and head to safety while calling 911 on your cell phone. As you stand surrounded by your loved ones watching the fire engines arrive, you’re grateful you had a plan, you’re grateful you had practiced . . . you’re grateful when told that the fire is out and the damage is minimal.

But what would happen if no one responded to your call?

Keystone Valley Fire Department is located in western Chester County, Pennsylvania, and proudly serves the residents in both our primary area and our mutual aid response area. We operate out of two stations and provide ambulance, fire, and rescue services to the multitude of homes, churches, shopping centers, and businesses already in existence. With the rapidly expanding community, we urgently need your help.
 ntly Asked Questions
Why should I volunteer for KVFD?

Volunteering as a member of the Keystone Valley Fire Department provides a rewarding experience and much more. Volunteer benefits include enhanced communication and time?management skills; increased community visibility; and a renewed sense of pride in your community and in yourself.

What type of commitment is involved?

We are a volunteer organization but staff paid career firefighters/EMTs to cover our ambulance and an initial fire/rescue response. Drivers are needed daily, 24/7 on a rotational basis. Fire/rescue personnel are urgently needed, any amount of time you are able to give.

What is the training process for KVFD volunteers?

The fire company offers up-to-date training and equipment to better prepare our volunteers for emergency situations. Weekly training is held Monday evenings at the firehouse and many of us go on to take advanced training at the county, state, and national levels.

Are there other things I can volunteer to do at KVFD?

There are many ways to get involved in the fire company. The following opportunities are available within the KVFD:

*   Board of Directors
*   Committees
*   Fundraising
*   Information Technology
*  Apparatus

So what do you think?

Do you have time to help us, help you? The next time you see the firetruck or Ambulance going down the street, think about the people who are waiting for the fire department to respond, and think about the people who dropped what they were doing to answer that call. You can be one of those people. Picture yourself getting trained and ready to a Firefighter, EMT and/or Support personnel. "People Helping People"
