U.S. Representative Chrissy Houlahan Visits Keystone Valley Fire Department.
While at KVFD US Representative Houlahan and her staff spoke to KVFD volunteers and career staff. Captain Joe Marks was able to provide Representative Houlahan with a tour of our facility as well as have a productive conversation about some of the challenges too many of our fire departments are facing, especially in Chester County.
Discussion occurred on increased volume of calls due to consolidation of Fire Stations, disruptions in the Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance service, and the physical and mental health impacts on our dedicated volunteer forces.
Earlier this year, Houlahan's office nominated the Keystone Valley Fire Department to receive community project funding to improve our ambulance services - Representative Houlahan's proposal is making good progress in Congress so far, and she is working to see it through.
From Representative Houlahan --These firefighters take tremendous pride in serving our community, and we are proud to have them. Thank you to Captain Marks and team for the guided tour, and I look forward to our continued partnership to serve the good people of Chester County.
To all our first responders out there, THANK YOU for all you do. Our community is grateful for your service. |
