Smoke Alarms Save Lives

Yesterday, we received new smoke alarms & carbon monoxide (CO) alarms through Operation SAVE-A-LIFE. Smoke and CO alarms that are properly installed and maintained play a vital role in reducing related deaths and injuries.

If there is a fire in your home, smoke spreads fast and you need smoke alarms to give you time to get out.

Everyone is reminded to have working smoke alarms:
» in each bedroom
» outside each separate sleeping area
» at least one on each level of your home

Smoke Detector Give Away for Parkesburg Borough - Thursday April 27th, 4:00 - 8:00 P.M.

Pennsylvania American Red Cross will be Walking the Parkesburg Community on Thursday evening from 4-8 P.M.

KVFD will be partnering up with PA American Red Cross for a free smoke detector give away to our residents who are in need of them.

Thank you to 6abc Action News, Philadelphia Fire Department, Kidde Fire Safety and The Home Depot for making this free #operationsavealife program possible and allowing KVFD to be part of it and to the PA American Red Cross for your efforts in Parkesburg.

Thank you to Firefighter Daisley who traveled down to obtain the smoke alarms for KVFD!

Any resident that lives in the Keystone Valley Fire Department response area and needs a smoke detector can contact KVFD at 610-857-3232 and make arrangements to obtain one. You can also e-mail KVFD @ INFO@KVFD8.

Tonight our team reported that 19 houses were made safer, with 58 residents, 20 smoke alarms installed
