November 10, 2024

On November 10th, 2024, Cochranville Fire Company, Lancaster County Ambulance 46, Southern Chester County Medics were dispatched to Wolfs Hollow Park in West Fallowfield Township for an injured person.

Cochranville Fire Company units along with Lancaster County Ambulance 46 and Medic 94 all made the response and were advised by the Chester County 911 Center that the caller reported a female had fallen at least 15 feet down a ridge and was reported to be unconscious. The caller also was unsure of where he was located on the trail. The Lancaster County 911 Center also dispatched Ambulance 8 and units from the Christiana Fire Company as the caller's phone traced them in the area of Creek Road in Sadsbury Township Lancaster County.

All responding units arrived and worked collaboratively to search the trails of Wolfs Hollow Park to find the injured patient. Deputy 27 (Kocher) arrived and assumed command for this incident. West Fallowfield Police Department made contact with the caller and patient and confirmed that they would be in the area of Creek Road but on the Chester County side in the woods. Deputy 52 (Stoltzfus) arrived and advised that a trail would have to be made for access to the patient. All responders worked together to cut vegetation down and assist EMS with patient packaging.

EMS gave the command a report on the patient's condition and requested a helicopter be placed on standby. Responders carried the patient down the makeshift trail and across a creek and assisted EMS with loading the patient into the ambulance. Deputy 27 (Kocher) confirmed that the patient was extricated from the woods and advised that the helicopter would be needed and requested them to the scene. Lifenet was the helicopter and arrived to meet EMS personnel and accept care of the injured patient. Fire personnel then assisted the Lifenet team with loading the patient into the helicopter. Lifenet departed the scene and transported the patient to an area trauma center.

Ambulance 8-1 cleared the scene at 15:25.
