Assist To Westwood Fire Company On A Working Building Fire

On January 7th, 2024, at 15:27 Westwood Fire Company along with numerous mutual aid agencies were dispatched to the 1100 block of W. Lincoln Highway in Valley Township for a reported building fire.
Westwood Fire Company units and mutual aid made the response and were advised by the Chester County 911 Center that the caller could see flames from inside of an apartment building. Valley Township Police Department arrived to confirm a fully involved structure. Battalion 44 (Sly) arrived and assumed command of this incident.
Engine 44-5 arrived and began suppression efforts and as additional units arrived, they were given their assignments by the commander. Ladder, Engine, Tac, all arrived and were directed by the commander to assist with Suppression and Ventilation. Ambulance 8 stood by and provided rehab for the firefighters while they were operating on the scene. Traffic 8 also assisted with traffic control of the busy roadway and coordinated with safely getting the school buses around the fire scene.
The fire was officially placed under control at 16:10 with all hands working to perform Salvage and Overhaul. The Command requested a response from the Chester County Fire Marshal's Office and Peco to secure the utilities.
Keystone Valley Fire Department units cleared the scene at 16:50.
